Parent Volunteer Opportunities
The Odyssey of the Mind program is run entirely by volunteers. In fact, we are obligated to send a certain number of volunteers to the Regional Tournament. We have always given coaches' children top priority for placement on a team. This year, we are giving volunteers a secondary priority (after team preferences and schedule/availability are factored in.) By signing up to volunteer, you are COMMITTING to perform the volunteer duty assigned. If you can not fulfill the commitment, you will be responsible for finding a replacement. Volunteer slots are available on a first come, first serve basis.

Volunteer as a Coach
We are particularly in need of volunteers to act as a coach. Coaching requires at least a weekly commitment between late October and early March, often meeting multiple times a week as the tournament (March 5th) approaches. Coaches are given a full day's training session on Saturday, October 22nd. Coaches children are given TOP priority for placement on a team.
New coaches can request a "Coaching Buddy" to receive helpful advice and guidance from an experienced coach by signing up at the flowing link:

I understand my child is NOT guaranteed a slot on a team. The program's size is limited by the number of available coaches/judges/volunteers.
My 3-5 child is available to attend the Eastern Regional Tournament on 3/4/2017
My K-2 child is available to attend the Primary Tournament on February 18th
My child is prepared to fulfill the commitment required for participation including regular attendance of team meetings (from Nov through early March), a positive team spirit and a cooperative attitude.
If I signed up as a judge or volunteer, I understand that I am committing to fulfill that obligation or find a replacement.
I am aware that there will be a $40 fee to participate, which includes a t-shirt (PTA scholarships are available)
